Great weekend of lax in Dallas for ALC

Great job and good times this weekend. We swept the Dallas D1 and D2 teams on their home turf. Sig had a career day against Big D and invented a new drinking game at 3am in the hotel lobby. Jordan missed 2 open nets while roll dodging the goalie and hit the pipe 27 times. Minnow had 1 shot on 16 feeds from JP and Pat and reprimanded Pat for not giving him more looks. Also, Noah is giving lessons in the 1 handed, long stick wrap check, if anyone is interested.

2012 Season Details

ALC is in the process of finalizing the 2012 season schedule, expect a first draft in the coming days. We anticipate the first game this weekend so please be prepared.

Dues

Dues will be $225 for rookies (or vets that need uniforms) and $175 for vets.
No Pay, no play; Paypal can be sent to: austinlacrosseclub@gmail.com.
Dues exceptions can be discussed with officers.
Please come out early to the first game to get uniforms, roster and dues squared away

Teams

A D1 and D2 team will be fielded to maximize playing time.
There will be “intermediate” players that will be asked to play both ways depending on needs of each team.

Travel

Unlike a local rec league, we’re extremely competitive and travel all over the state for our league games and tournaments.
Expect to travel to San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston at the very least.

Social Events

The team will pick up the bar tabs at post game rendezvous, host weekend parties, etc when we can; we try to keep the team close knit.
We’re actively looking for bar sponsorships.

ALC Returns From Houston 1-3

ALC traveled to Houston this weekend in their first three game weekend of the season to take on PBR, NW, and Tony’s Tavern. Both the D1 and D2 teams lost early in the weekend to PBR despite stellar play by both teams and a huge individual contribution from Colin who was caught on film using his left hand rather unsuccessfully.

ALC’s D2 team continued its hardships in its second game of the weekend against a strong NW team. The D1 team was able to take advantage of the last game of the weekend and overcome Tony’s Tavern for the only win of the weekend.

Thank you to everyone that traveled to Houston.

Championship Weekend

The ALC D1 and D2 teams will be traveling to Houston the weekend of the 19th and 20th of June to compete in the SWLA Championships. Both teams hope to bring home the trophy for the second year in a row.

Saturday, 6/19
2pm – D1 2nd Seed (Sharks) vs 3rd Seed (PBR)
4pm – D1 1st Seed (ALC) vs 4th Seed (Big D)
6pm – D2 Championship Game – 1st Seed PBR LITE and 2nd Seed ALC2

Sunday, 6/20
11am – D1 Consolation Game
1pm – D1 Championship Game

This weekend the ALC D1 and D2 teams will be traveling to Dallas, TX for a weekend of lacrosse. The field location is still TBD.
